Weekend Recap

Well my weekend was busy. It was fun though. I really wish I could figure out how to put stuff in list form on this thing. I've done what people tell me to do but I just can never get it right. But anyways, highlights from the weekend include: driving up to Michigan with just me and Nate on Wednesday, going to Mr. Hot Dog for lunch on Thursday (it wasn't all the Knochel's cracked it up to be), cruising Bay City with Jamie's sister Laura listening to the CD of love songs Jamie got for herself and Nate, the personal shower, setting up for the reception on Friday and going to Taco Bell, Dustin, Mandy, Liberty, Robey, Angie, Grandpa and Grandma coming to Knochel's for supper on Friday night, pictures, pictures, pictures... all while wearing ridiculously painful high heel shoes, showing up at pictures with those disguise glasses with the huge nose and mustache, finding out that pop came out of our dresses with just plain water and didn't leave a mark, the rehearsal supper and the singing afterwards, staying with Dean and Connie Paschik Saturday night (don't know if I spelled that last name right), sharing the basement with Nate Saturday night and having one more late night talk with him, the wedding of course, the reception except for wearing those ridiculous shoes again (my feet still hurt), the drive home. I think this one might be my favorite. See, Nate's car was the decorated getaway car but they were taking Jamie's car to the airport and the needed someone to drive Nate's car home. So me and my cousin Alex drove it home. But there was no car wash around. So the whole way home we were in the just married car and people kept honking and waving and giving us thumbs up. So we'd just wave and honk back. All the while Alex was singing a song about being married to his first cousin. I mean we're a close family but we do have out limits. So it was a just a really good weekend. I'm going to miss seeing the Knochel's all the time. They make me feel just like family. I even had to clean their house. And some people who really didn't know us thought that I was their sister at the reception. They're just a great family. I took work off today and I'm really glad I did. It was a long ride home. We got stuck in the I-80/94 traffic and finally pulled into our driveway around quarter after two. Then I crashed until 11:30 this morning. But tomorrow it's back to life, back to reality....

Oh and another one of my favorite highlights. Janelle Ramseyer stocked the front bench at noon with gum, mints, fruit snacks and kleenex. Yay for Janelle!

I agree about the Mr. Hot Dog piece and I'M from Bay City.

Janelle learned from me. Wait--no, I actually am the one who would still purses off the benches when we would come back through the benches after greeting the new converts. She's the giver, I'm the taker, I guess. :-)

I'm so glad you and Nate had those extra moments together this week. I'm praying for you all.

LOVE YOU!!!

i heard about the hilarious ride home...i just cracked up laughing. I think Al would probably be the most hilarious and fun person to experience your events with. I can just imagine the song he sang. Love you! p.s. i tried to make my shoes NOT uncomfortable and make them wearable again!

Your very welcome about the bench. The fruit snacks were defintly for you.

I am so glad that you agree with me that Mr. Hot Dog is not all the Knochel's say it is. Personally, I don't like Mr. Hot Dog's at all.

Too funny about the car. I wondered where you guys were going to wash it.

I think Alex should publish his first cousin marriage song, that would be really funny. Is he one of your double first cousins?

I always feel like family at the Knochel's too (though I can't believe they made you clean!) THen again, I delivered laundry when I got there Thursday night.

Maybe I can talk them into planning a trip to Alabama!
